How I've adapted to Covid-19 and why you can be reassured of your safety

Naturally, as a skin care industry expert, my hygiene routines were already rigorous, but you can rest assured that I take every single precaution available to ensure safety, given the hands-on nature of my work. Those who know me will not be surprised to know that I made the best possible use of the lockdown from March to July to make sure my treatment room and working practices are completely Covid-safe. After undertaking online training courses, I am pleased to now hold Barbicide® Covid-19 certification (in infection control) , as well the a Masced (melanoma and skin cancers early detection) certificate. You're in safe hands at Simply Skincare!

What you can expect when you attend for your appointment

With the changes I've made to be Covid-safe, your treatment experience will naturally be a little different. Here's a primer on what you can expect.

Firstly, I will be asking all clients to arrive on time, but not early. All surfaces, equipment and wash areas must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each client, so I will ask you to wait at the door until I've completed this routine before inviting you in. I will then immediately ask you to wash and sanitise your hands before entering the treatment room.

I will be wearing a facial shield, apron and gloves. Please also wear a facial covering unless exempt - except during any facial, of course!.

It goes without saying that if you feel unwell in the days before your appointment, please take a lateral flow test and, if your symptoms persist, let me know as soon as possible by phone and stay at home.

Inside the treatment room, you will notice that things look a little different, as I have removed some unnecessary stock for easier cleaning. The duvet has gone from my treatment bed so, whilst the heating will, of course, be switched on, you will want to make sure you wear something comfortable and warm.

Please limit the number of personal belongings that you bring into the treatment room to reduce any risk of transmission. I know that some clients like to have their mobile phone to hand so, if you do feel it necessary to have a phone out during your treatment, I have a UV sterilising machine available to use.

Lastly, I will be asking clients to make cashless payments wherever possible and to, once again, sanitise their hands before leaving.

I realise that this may seem like a lot to remember but please be reassured that I am here to guide you through and make sure you are comfortable. No doubt most of these new measures will quickly become part of our collective 'new normal' in many daily situations!
